The Soccer Academy is an innovative program that supports the schools curriculum encouraging students in years 7-12 to become physically engaged in sport and improve skill development. The aims of the Soccer Academy are for students to: - Combine VET study with intensive sport training and individual skill development during or after school hours
- Develop skills and a knowledge and understanding of Soccer
- Study subject areas that are specific to their desired career objectives
- Develop and enhance self discipline, time management, goal setting and leadership skills
- To create a sense of pride and belonging to the school community.
In total there are 66 students involved in the Soccer Academy for 2008. In addition to the training requirements of the Soccer Academy, students in the VCE complete a Certificate II in Community Recreation. Currently we have three teams that train under a head Coach on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. - - Year 7 -10 girls team
- - Year 7-9 Boys team
- - Year 10-12 Senior Boys team
In 2007, the Intermediate boys' team won the Victorian State Championships. This is an enormous accomplishment that we are very proud of, considering that we are a small school. We are continuing to improve our learning environment and offer curriculum that our community is passionate about. Click here to view Photo's
