Synthetic Soccer Ground Facility
New Synthetic Soccer Ground at Fawkner Secondary College.
On Tuesday 30th September the Minister of Sport Hon. James Merlino attended the College to formally announce funding for the construction of a Synthetic Soccer Ground at Fawkner Secondary College. The Project will be a joint venture between the Moreland City Council and the College. The new state of the art facility will comprise of a full size FIFA approved competition ground, fencing, light towers and landscaping. The arrangements for the use of the facilities are that the College will have use during the day and the community will have access during the evenings and weekend. Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence in January and be completed in April 2009.
The new facility is a fantastic addition to the local Fawkner community, and further supports the Colleges popular Soccer Academy program.
